I have trouble increasing in the last row of ribbing. Is there an easier way of doing it?
If the sleeve is knit in stocking stitch you can easily increase in the first row of stocking stitch. Should you have a pattern I recommend increasing in the last row of ribbing.
What is the best way to increase on a sleeve?
Knit the edge stitch then pick up one leg of the stitch in the row below. You can either knit or purl this stitch.
My sleeve is knit in the round. Do I have to use a marker at the end of my round?
You can increase an extra stitch and purl this stitch. Your increases will be done on either side of this stitch.
I don't like sewing in sleeves can I attach them any other way?
For a drop sleeve pick up the stitches around the armhole (3 stitches out of 4 rows for basic yarns) and work the sleeve from the top down. Be careful when you have a pattern. The pattern might be upside down.
How do I figure out the multiples on the sleeve?
Mark the centre of your sleeve. Let's say you have a multiple of six, 3 stitches will be on one side of the marker and 3 stitches will be on the other side of the marker. Now count out towards the edge stitch and that will determine how to start the sleeve.
How do I increase to keep the multiples correct?
Put a marker in at the beginning of your first complete multiple. Now count towards the edge and this will tell you whether to increase a knit or a purl.
